Group Therapy and Support Groups Offered at MAPP

How To Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk
Based on the book with the same title this course is designed to give you practical, effective methods of communication that will make your relationship with children of all ages less stressful and more rewarding. You'll learn how to discipline without hurting or alienating, cope with your child's negative feelings, engage your child's willing cooperation, help your child develop a realistic self-image and resolve conflicts peacefully. For more information contact Genie Ravital at 267-977-3008 or Catherine White at 215-307-7915.

Support Group for Caregivers

Common questions caretakers often ask include: How can I possibly take care of my own health and well being? Is it okay to socialize? Often caretakers are so busy with doctor appointments, busy schedules, work and family responsibilities that it is very easy to put one's own needs "on hold." The support group is aimed at helping family members adjust to life after a diagnosis, treatment, success or loss. To learn more contact Pam Kelberg at 267-259-8077.

Trauma and Abuse Group
The Trauma and Abuse Group is a closed ended group for adults in the process of healing from trauma. This group weaves topics of psycho-education related to trauma into the healing process. We will address issues of symptom management, safety, healthy emotional management, loss and grief and a vision of a healthy future. For more information contact Eda Kauffman at 267-975-6869.
